Counter-Strike Global Source 2 | Major Update


We are pleased to announce that Counter-Strike: Global Source 2 has a new map — Ancient.

This location takes players to various jungles, where ancient ruins have become a battlefield. Ancient offers unique routes, tactical opportunities and a balanced design, ideal for an enjoyable game.

[Maps] 

- Office:

- Fixed an issue where the player could shoot through multiple walls at once.

- Changed collision models for some surfaces with players.

- Improved geometry around tables in the terrorist spawn area.

- Mirage:

- Lighting has been fixed.

- Various bugs have been fixed and exploits have been removed.

- Adjusted collisions and viewing angles.

- Slightly improved performance.

- Improved geometry of the van at Bombsite B.

- Placed invisible obstacles around the refrigerator in the Apartments to prevent players from getting stuck near it.

- Adjusted the size of Bombsite A and added visual boundaries to it.

- Adjusted the collision model on the scaffolding at Bombsite A to make movement on it smoother.

- Improved geometry around the sniper spot to remove the possibility of walking on invisible edges.

- Dust II:

- Closed a hole above the center doors that allowed grenades to fall out of the map.

- Inferno:

- Closed a hole that allowed weapons to fall out of the map.

- Fixed some gaps in the map and moped geometry that the community reported.

[ UI ]

- Fixed the MVP panel in all modes.

- Fixed a cause for some hitches that would occur when gameplay UI elements appeared.

[ Animation ]

- Fixed an issue where weapon animations would not play correctly when inspecting while reloading.

- Reduced the rotation angle of player models' torsos relative to the direction of their legs.

- Improved how models react to hits.

- Jump animations now take into account the direction of the jump.

- Improved player model poses when aiming up and down.

- Improved foot placement and poses for running player models.

- Reduced the time it takes into account when drawing weapons.

- The player model view when blinded by a flashbang now more accurately reflects their ability to see.

[ Gameplay ]

- Fixed an issue where players in the center of a frag grenade explosion were poorly visible to other players, but still visible to themselves.

- Slightly adjusted camera movement in first person.

- Fixed issues where players would occasionally trip when sliding on geometry.

- Fixed an issue where grenade throw force would sometimes be delayed.

- Fixed an issue where a grenade would not be thrown if the player switched to another grenade immediately after throwing.

[ Skins ]

- Fixed an issue where certain hardware configurations would have black skins.

[ Miscellaneous ]

- Fixed an issue where players could stick their heads through the ceiling in first person view.

- Fixed an issue where the bomb would sometimes disappear from the radar.

- Fixed an issue where the bomb could get stuck outside the playable area.

- Fixed a crash related to the scoreboard.

- Fixed an issue where the bomb could fall through the ground if dropped while planting.

- Fixed an issue where multi-threading could cause framerate drops, especially if all CPUs were busy.

- Fixed an issue where weapon changes would sometimes be ignored by the server.

- Fixed issues with smoke shadow rendering and improved its performance.

- Chickens no longer interact with dropped weapons.

- Fixed an issue where players would jump higher than normal if switching to a low frame rate.

- Fixed an issue where bot avatars would not reload correctly during a match if the player opened the pause menu.

- Fixed a calculation error for the "Most Valuable Player for Killing All Enemies" award that occurred in situations where teams had different numbers of players.

- Added an intro to the game launch.

- Improved stability.
